The narrative at the Passover Seder revolves around children. The story of our exodus is recounted as an answer to their questions. In the Haggadah we read of the four sons, each representing a segment of our people.
Halfway across the globe, in Ukraine, there is a group of special sons and daughters: Sasha’s parents are drunkards. Talik never knew his father and was left to starve when his mother ran off. Styopa’s father beat him, and Vika watched in horror as her father murdered her mother. These are four of the 80 traumatized yet innocent children who have found a loving and nourishing family at the “Mishpacha” Orphanage.
